A day out in central Stockholm

The sun has been shining again! Even though the temperatures are still below 0, we can finally spend more time out and around the Stockholm.

On Saturday we have met my lovely friend Sofia for a fantastic lunch at Eataly – yes, it has open here, and yes i am so hopelessly happy (after 10 years as an expat, I still miss genuine Italian food, and Eataly is definitely the grocery I was waiting for! 🙂 )

After lunch, we went for a short walk and then fika (the Swedish way to say coffee and cake – to get an idea of what I am talking about, follow this link) to the new Joahn & Nyström cafe that opened in Norrlandsgatan.

At Johan & Nyström they serve one of the best coffees in town and the level of their pastries is of superior quality. In addition, the café “per sé” is decorated following the Swedish rules for minimal design.

After we packed ourselves with caffeine and sugar, we took long walk home, enjoining the sun and the chilly breeze of early Swedish spring.

The Royal Castle – cannot really believe this is the castle, no surprise that the Swedish royal family does not live here…

And how was your weekend? Have you done something special outside or did you just simply chill at home?
